Bill Tart with his semi-auto grease gun. Neato - NFA for the short barrel though. He uses it for re-enacting - has blank firing device.

Sam and his M1917 - took First in the 2nd classification (Original sights, handloads/commercial ammo) with this rifle.

(of course, he was the only one shooting in that class too...<g>)

Ken MacAuley with a Mosin - caught his shot right after the trigger pull, the barrel has started to rise. Ken won the 1st class (original sights, milsurp ammo), but I don't know which rifle he used. He also had a very nice banner Mauser, but sitting in a K98 stock.

Another shot of Sam's M1917 and Bill's "Extreme Hakim" (MG Mag and LER scope)

Futher down the firing line. A nice smattering of rifles (one non-C&R but fun nonetheless).

A closer look at Bill's "Extreme Hakim"

Ken shooting Mike Yeates' Hakim

John Hicks and Don Blomquist discussing the Ishie. John won the bench decorating contest.

Paul Oats always brings something new. This old Martini is .303 shot wonderfully out of the gate.

Another "new" rifle for Paul was this '05 Ross. We decided against a bolt assembly contest on this one. This rifle has both Canadian and US markings (as follows)

Note the Quebec cartouche on the left.

Flaming bomb and US on the wrist.

Not quite asses and elbows, but "targets up!" Paul Oats in the distance was cursing stripper clips.

All settled down for the match now. Beautiful day!

Forced march to retreive targets for scoring. 100 Yd line (frames fold down for 200 ud matches). Plenty of onion weed present - made you hungry to walk through the stuff.

The crew! (i've misplaced the names, so come back tomorrow for names...I didn't remember you all).

Mike Yeates, winner of the <ahem> "special" category of the day. Basically worst shot during the matches. To be fair, he had some lousy ammo with light firing pin strickes. He switched rifles and continued playing. The two shots (out of ten) which were on the paper, had a smaller measurement than the winner. This "lovely" Turk Mauser was the prize...too bad he didn't use the Turk for the match, at least he would have had a better excuse (bore is worse than sewer)...<g>
